Greg Gamez

Greg Gamez, Jr.

Greg and Bonnie joined First Assembly of God in January 2021 and Greg began to serve in our Worship Ministries Department and later became our Lead Worship Director in March 2022. Greg was credentialed with First Assembly in November 2022 and now carries the title of Worship Pastor and also oversees our A/V Tech Ministries. Pastor Greg is a passionate worshipper that leads by example and enjoys building teams and also collaborates with other worship leaders and musicians in the greater San Antonio area. He also has a love for next gen and you will find him during the week serving our youth together with his wife Bonnie. Pastor Greg and our worship and FA creative teams are intentional about creating a space for the Holy Spirit to move as we worship together.

David Crowley

David Crowley

David Crowley serves as pastor of Second Half of Life (50+) ministries at First Assembly. Pastor Crowley was Ordained in 1978, a third generation Pentecostal preacher and has pastored Assembly of God Churches in Durango, Denver, and Grand Junction, Colorado. He married his high school sweetheart Verla and they have one son, two daughters, and six grandchildren. After moving to San Antonio, Texas in 2019 to be closer to family they joined First Assembly and felt right at home. Pastor Crowley joined the staff in 2022 and he and Verla have fallen in love with Texas. They are excited to serve and his passion is leading people into the blessings of serving Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit with great joy.

Robert Dennard

Robert Dennard

Pastor Robert Dennard serves as the campus pastor of Garden Ridge Assembly, a daughter church of First Assembly of God San Antonio. Robert and his wife Tiffiney have served in ministry together for nearly 20 years and arrived at Garden Ridge in early 2018. They are passionate about ministry to families and empowering people to live victoriously for Jesus. Pastor Robert holds a Master of Divinity from Regent University and is nearing completion of a Doctor of Ministry degree. A former police officer and Marine Corps veteran, Pastor Robert also serves as the volunteer chaplain for the City of Garden Ridge Police Department. For more information about Garden Ridge Assembly check them out at GardenRidgeAssembly.org.

Jonathan Gonzalez

Jonathan Gonzalez

Jonathan was born and raised in Mission, Tx in the Rio Grande Valley. He was engaged in ministry beginning at an early age, having participated in numerous church dramas, outreach, and youth leadership. At age 18, Jonathan began leading worship and initiated a youth worship team. He later joined adult worship ministries as a lead/background vocal where his gift in praise and worship was mentored. At 27 Jonathan received a promotion within his profession and was led to San Antonio, Tx. where he began attending First Assembly and became a member and began to serve in worship ministries. Jonathan’s prayer is that the Holy Spirit would freely move through worship so that all can experience the love and power of Christ.

Brandon Watson

Brandon Watson

Brandon Watson is an internationally known recording artist and worship pastor based out of San Antonio, Texas with a passion for worship and a heart devoted to God. Brandon is a Pastor’s son that has been leading worship for over 16yrs. Brandon’s music shows dedication and creativity and his drive is energetic, friendly, and passionate both on and off the stage. Being born into a pastor’s home, he both found and developed his love for music and heart of worship at a very young age. Today, Brandon’s experience as a song-writer, producer and recording artist are a blessing to our team as he leads Worship Ministries at First Assembly.

Sean Jensen

Sean Jensen

Sean and his family started going to First AG in 2003. While in youth, he started volunteering on the tech team and discovered that his calling was to work behind the scenes to ensure the services ran smoothly. In 2017, he joined the First Assembly team. He is currently enrolled at Texas A&M San Antonio and will be graduating in December 2018 with a degree in Business Management and Marketing.

Sam Matta

Sam Matta

Pastor Sam has a ministerial career that spans over the last half century, while pastoring churches in Austin, Galveston, Chicago and Abilene. He also served as a Deputy Sheriff and a Deputy Constable before being elected as a Justice of the Peace where he served for 20 years. He has been married to his wife Esther since 1964 and they have three children and six grandchildren.

Angel Rios

Angel Rios

Angel and his wife Jina were married in 2015 and are proud parents to a handsome 3 year old boy named Kairos Jaden. After growing up and serving faithfully as youth leaders in their former church they felt a calling from God to move to the beautiful city of San Antonio, Texas. Starting their journey as public school teachers in a new city with some questions about their new home, God was quick to answer their prayer of “Why San Antonio?” They joined First Assembly in August of 2018 and it quickly felt right at home. While both serving at the church, Pastor Angel excitedly accepted the calling to be the new Student Ministry Pastor. Pastor Angel and Jina are so grateful to lead this generation after God’s own heart and are expecting God to move in the lives of youth and young adults here at First Assembly!

Kara Haley

Kara Haley

Braden and Kara met and were married at First Assembly and have attended the church for over 20 years. Kara has volunteered in children’s ministry since 2007 and recently became the new children’s pastor after working as a RN for 15 years. They are blessed with 3 children: Mabry, Meredith and Miles and enjoy making kids ministry a fun and exciting place to learn about Jesus and grow closer to Him.
